Mick is Mr. reliable! He has such an even laid back attitude that if someone is new in the hunting field Mick is the pick. He goes the pace of his hunter and has proven to be a great boy for young or first time hunters. He is patient and well mannered. He was our first GWP that started this all. We are big on training our own animals and Mick was very forgiving as we all learned along the way. Groups like our local GWP club (TCGWPC) and our local NAVHDA chapter (MN-NAVHDA) were instrumental in coaching us and introducing us to people who have been wonderful to learn from.
Since Mick is a black GWP we did a lot of showing in the UKC and IABCA show rings. He did well and at his very first UKC show he received a BIS! He has duplicated this at other shows and is a fun dog to do a variety of things with. One thing we did not do with him was obedience so our son is starting him in obedience this year and so far earned a trip to the State 4-H Dog Show as well as 1 leg towards their AKC CD Title. They have also obtained a Rally Novice Title together and have 2 legs towards their Rally Intermediate Title! They are looking forward to finishing this up at Nationals!
